Academic Year Abroad Paris at Paris IV & the Institut CatholiqueGeneral Background | La Directrice | Academics | Cultural Activities | Program Dates To encourage its students to participate in the rich cultural life of Paris, a richness to be found in few other cities of the world, Academic Year Abroad includes in its optional Cultural Activities fee an exceptional sequence of events. Every week or two, students attend a play, a concert, an opera, visit a museum or an art gallery, or go on an excursion to a site of interest outside Paris: Chartres, Versailles, Fontainebleau, Reims, Malmaison. Each Fall there is a weekend trip to the lovely Vallée de la Loire and grands chateaux and each Spring a weekend trip to Bayeux, the D-Day landing beaches at Normandy, and the magnificent Mont Saint Michel. During orientation, all students may attend a présentation de la ville de Paris par diapositives, a présentation du cinéma français, visits to the Quartier du Marais and to the Musée Carnavalet, the Quartier de Montmartre, the Assemblée Nationale, and the Musées d'Orsay et du Louvre.
